OCD Therapy in Chicago
OCD forces you to carry a lot. It can be exhausting. You may be looking for a place where you can put some of the burden down for a while and talk about what you’re experiencing. My practice specializes in OCD therapy for adults.
Finding the right therapist can take time, especially when you’re investing your own time, energy, and money. You’re looking for someone who really understands OCD and trauma, and who offers a space where you feel safe, respected, and free to be yourself.
You may also want a therapist who can draw from multiple evidence-based approaches within a trauma-informed framework, rather than a one-size-fits-all model. In my practice, we’ll work together in a confidential, empowering, and sensitive environment to make sense of what you’re going through and build tools for managing stress and triggers.
I offer a free 20-minute consultation so you can ask questions, get a genuine feel for my style, and decide whether it’s the right fit for you before paying for a session. Here’s what to know as you prepare to book a therapy consultation in Chicago.
Finding the Right Therapist Matters
What Happens in a Therapy Consultation?
It's important to me that your therapy experience feels like a good fit from the very beginning. That's why I offer free 20-minute consultations, so you can get a clear sense of me and my approach before investing in ongoing sessions.
A consultation is a free, 20-minute, informal conversation where you can:
Talk about what’s bringing you to therapy
Learn about my approach to treating OCD and trauma
Ask questions about my credentials, training, and background
Start to clarify what you hope therapy will help you change or feel differently about
I’ll also use this time to briefly explain the therapy modalities I offer and how they might fit your specific concerns. We can go over practical details as well, including whether you prefer in-person or virtual sessions, my rates, and current scheduling availability. Most consultations last about 20 minutes and are designed to help you decide whether working together feels like the right next step.
What You Can Expect From Our Sessions
As an LCPC, NBCC, and PMH-C, I offer an integrative approach that is tailored to your specific needs and goals. In our work together, I most often draw from:
Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT)
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
When helpful, I may also incorporate other evidence-based approaches that have been shown to support individuals living with OCD, trauma, and anxiety. Your comfort level and window of tolerance matter to me, and we will move at a pace that feels challenging but still respectful of your limits.
