Rates & FAQs for OCD & Trauma Therapy in Chicago
Choosing the right therapist is one of the most meaningful decisions you can make. We want you to feel comfortable and clear about the cost of therapy, so this page walks you through how to get started, along with our rates, policies, and insurance options.
How do I start therapy at Chicago OCD & Trauma Therapy?
1. Schedule a consultation
You can schedule a consultation using the button below or any button on the website labeled “Get Started” or “Schedule a Free Consultation.” If you’d like a few questions answered before scheduling, you’re welcome to fill out the form at the bottom of this page, and I’ll be in touch.
2. We have a free 20‑minute consultation
At the time you choose, we meet by phone or video. You can ask questions, share what’s been going on, and talk about what you’re hoping to work on in therapy. I may ask a few questions so I can better understand how to support you.
3. We decide together whether it’s a good fit
If it feels like a good fit for both of us, we’ll schedule an intake session, and I’ll send you intake paperwork to complete beforehand. If it doesn’t feel quite right, I’ll be honest about that and, when possible, help you think through other options.
4. Intake session and beyond
We meet for your intake session, which is a longer first appointment where we get a fuller picture of what’s bringing you in and begin to outline a plan. From there, we’ll schedule ongoing sessions and continue our therapy work together.
We choose to remain out of network so your care is guided by your clinical needs, not insurance company restrictions. Insurance plans often require a diagnosis, limit sessions, and dictate what treatment is considered “medically necessary”. These constraints can interfere with individualized, high-quality care.
By working outside of insurance networks, we can provide more personalized, flexible, and confidential treatment.
While we don’t bill insurance directly, many clients receive partial reimbursement through out-of-network benefits, and we provide the documentation needed to support that process.
Why We Choose to Be Out of Network
Session Fees
Payment is due at the time of service. We accept all major credit and debit cards, HSA cards, and FSA cards.

Please note that our office provides a free consultation. This ensures that you can feel comfortable and at ease in making your decision to work with us before committing to the intake fee.

Ongoing Therapy Sessions (50 minutes): $175
We charge a $175 fee for each 50-minute session.
We can provide you with a detailed superbill. You can then submit this to your insurance provider to use to file out-of-network claims.

Cancellation Policy
We understand that unexpected situations can arise and may prevent you from attending your appointment. We ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule without a fee. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a $100 fee. Missed appointments without prior notice incur the full session fee of $175. Please note that these fees are not billable to insurance and are the patient’s responsibility.

No, I don’t take insurance or bill it directly. Choosing not to work through insurance allows us more flexibility and room for truly personalized care. Because insurance can limit the number of sessions and the types of therapy it will cover, working out-of-network means we can focus on what’s actually most helpful for you, rather than what fits an insurance code.
I do provide detailed receipts (superbills) that you can submit to your insurance company, and some clients are able to receive partial reimbursement depending on their out-of-network benefits.
